Bethany Littlebird is a science fiction and fantasy writer, living in Ontario.
Once, not too long ago, Bethany was a graphic designer, a broadcast animation art director, a marketing artist at a video game company, and a virtual set designer for a major news organization. Now she writes books. Well, she always wrote books—but now she lets people read them.
Bethany holds an MFA in Creative Writing program at the University of British Columbia, where she specialized in Speculative Fiction, Children’s Writing, and Graphic Novels. She held the Indigenous Graduate Fellowship for 2023, and a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) award for her Master’s thesis, an Indigenous Futurism science fiction and fantasy novel. Her new adult urban fantasy novel was chosen for the 2023 Annick Press Mentorship Program, and she was a recipient of a 2025 Toronto Arts Council grant and a 2025 Canada Arts Council grant for the research and creation of her next science fiction novel.
She is also a recent graduate from the Professional Book Publishing Program at Humber Polytechnic and is a member of the Indigenous Editors Association.
